Terms & Conditions
By submitting an application to perform at the BREAKTHROUGH Youth Music Festival, applicants agree to the following terms and conditions:
Eligibility
The festival is open to solo performers and groups.
Applicants must be within the specified age range (10-18). Performers beyond this range will be considered at the discretion of the event organisers - exceptions may be made where the majority of group members are within the specified age range.
Applicants, or the majority of the group, must be residents of the Bass Coast or neighbouring Shires.
Applicants must complete the application form in full.
Successful applicants will be selected at the discretion of the event organisers.
Performance
Successful applicants agree to perform at the allocated performance time.
Performers are expected to arrive by the time communicated by the organisers to allow for check-in and event coordination.
Set lengths and performance times will be determined by the organisers.
The organisers reserve the right to request changes to proposed set lists where required to ensure suitability for an all-ages community event or to accommodate scheduling requirements.
Communication
The primary method of correspondence for this event will be email - it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they check emails in a timely manner, including their spam/junk folder. GRCS does not take responsibility for missed emails.
It is the responsibility of the student to make GRCS aware of any changes to their contact details. GRCS will not be held responsible for any missed communications.
Performer Payment
Successful performers will receive a performance payment following the event.
Payment is conditional upon attendance and completion of the scheduled performance.
Payment will only be processed once a valid invoice has been received. Instructions regarding invoicing will be provided to successful applicants.
The organiser reserves the right to withhold payment where an invoice has not been submitted within the requested timeframe.
A flat rate of $50 per performer is guaranteed; any additional profit will be distributed among performers and youth volunteers.
Photography, Video and Media
The event will be photographed and filmed.
By participating, performers consent to photographs, video and audio recordings being used by GRCS Music School, YES Youth Hub and event partners for promotional, educational and archival purposes.
This may include social media, websites, printed publications, media releases and future event promotion.
The performer (or the guardian/caregiver if the student is under 18 years of age) must inform GRCS Music School in writing if you do not allow the use of such material.
GRCS Music School reserves the right to store film and photography in the GRCS Photo & Video Library, which is accessible by families of GRCS Music School at any time.
Behaviour
All performers are expected to behave respectfully towards fellow performers, event staff, volunteers and members of the public.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, violence or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Alcohol, vaping, smoking and illicit drugs are prohibited by performers during the event.
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in removal from the event.
Equipment
Basic production equipment will be provided as advised by the organisers.
Performers are responsible for bringing any additional instruments, equipment, pedals, leads or accessories required for their performance unless otherwise agreed.
The organisers accept no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal equipment.
Performers will be liable for any damage caused to GRCS Music School's or YES Youth Hub’s property or equipment.
Cancellations
If a performer is unable to attend, they must notify the organisers as soon as possible.
The organisers reserve the right to amend the event schedule or performer lineup if required due to unforeseen circumstances.
The organisers reserve the right to remove a performer from the event lineup at any time prior to or during the event if the performer's conduct, including conduct on social media, is deemed to compromise the safety, reputation, integrity, or values of the BREAKTHROUGH Youth Music Festival.
Event Changes
The organisers reserve the right to postpone, cancel or modify the event in the event of extreme weather, venue issues, safety concerns or other circumstances.
Child Safety
Performers and attendees under 18 remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
While GRCS Music School and YES Youth Hub will be curating a safe environment for all patrons, they accept no responsibility for child supervision.
Acceptance
Submission of an application confirms that the applicant (and parent or guardian where applicable) has read and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
The Terms and Conditions described above are agreed to upon application and may be changed at any point by the organisers without providing notice to the applicant. A copy of the Terms and Conditions will always be available on this website.
