GRCS FAQs
How many lessons will I receive?
GRCS operates on a 16-lesson semester, consisting of 8 lessons each term - this leaves a couple of weeks spare each term to allow for absences, by you or us! So, over the course of the year, you'll receive a total of 32 lessons. If you do get to attend every week and finish your lessons early, you can always purchase additional lessons.
How often am I billed?
You will receive an invoice at the beginning of each term. Each of these invoices will be for 8 lessons - therefore, two 8 lesson invoices will make up the semester’s 16 lessons. If you’re a little confused how this works, check out the diagram below. If you’re beginning lessons mid-term, we’ll adjust the amount of lessons you’re invoiced for accordingly.

What happens if I haven’t used my 16 lessons by the end of the semester?
Don’t worry! Those lessons won’t be lost! We’ll simply make a note of the number of lessons you didn’t receive and issue these as a credit to your family account - this will then be reflected on your next invoice.
How do I cancel a lesson I know I can’t attend?
All you need to do is submit the cancellation through the Student Portal - GRCS does not accept lesson cancellations through phone, text, email or verbal communication - by doing so, the lesson may be charged
Will I be charged for my cancelled lesson (individual lessons)?
We understand that things pop up from time to time and you might not be able to attend your lesson. That's why, as long as you provide us with at least 24 hours notice via the Student Portal, you will not be charged.
Unfortunately, if you give us less than 24 hours notice, you will still be charged for this lesson. We understand that this may be frustrating, however we need to have this policy in place to ensure our teachers are paid for the time they are expecting to work.
Please note that GRCS is very happy to offer Zoom lessons, should you be unable to physically attend - just let your teacher know and they organise this for you!
Will I be charged for my cancelled lesson (group and shared lessons)?
If you are part of a group lesson, just like individual lessons, you will receive 16 lessons per semester. All the same conditions apply to group lessons as individual lessons, except for one important difference - unfortunately, if you miss a lesson, the lesson will continue to run without you, so it won't be able to be 'caught up' at the end of the semester.
Student absences are common, so it's really important we have this procedure in place, because the only other alternative is cancelling a lesson anytime one group member is missing, and then we'd never get to see you! Our procedure is the best way to ensure that everyone gets the best music education possible. Please note that if your teacher is absent, or your lesson lands on a pupil free day (In Schools students only), then this lesson will not be 'missed' and will instead be 'caught up' by the end of the semester.
What do I do if I want to terminate lessons entirely?
While we would be sad to see you leave, we understand the time may come for us to say goodbye to each other. If you wish to terminate your music lessons, you must provide a minimum two weeks written notice via email to hello@greenroomconceptstudios.com. Should you be unable to provide this notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to that of two lessons - this also applies during school holidays (eg. you may be charged for a Week 1 lesson if you were to terminate lessons in the final week of a school holiday break). GRCS sends multiple emails to remind you of this, to avoid a situation where you are required to pay a lesson termination fee.
Please note that, as per the terms and conditions, GRCS does not offer refunds for unused lessons - alternatively, they will remain on your family account for future use if you desire. They can even be used for a different family member, or with a different teacher or instrument!
Do I need to re-enrol in lessons at the beginning of each term?
Nope! Unless we hear otherwise from you, we’ll automatically re-enrol you in lessons at the beginning of each term.
