ONLINE LESSONS SETUP GUIDE

Hey there! Welcome to online lessons with Green Room Concept Studios! We are so excited that you have chosen to join us and we cannot wait to get you started with some fun, interactive and awesome music making!

But before we can start there are a few simple steps that you need to follow in order to get set up.
See the steps below, follow them accurately and remember, if you have any issues please contact us, we are here to help!

Step 1

Have a device ready. An up-to-date iPad, Laptop or Tablet with a camera and microphone is all you need. As a last resort a smartphone will do the trick.

Step 2

Download Zoom to your device. The link below has all the available download options.

Step 3

Play around with your setup. Make sure that your teacher can see you and any instrument-specific requirements eg: fingers for the piano.

Here are few things that you will need to have:

A quiet location with few distractions
A phone or other device that you can play music/backing tracks through
A speaker to connect the phone to
Lesson notes, music and a pencil
A music stand (especially for a singer)
Your instrument tuned/warmed up and ready to go

Step 4

On the day of your lesson, check your emails for the lesson reminder that is sent to you 24 hours before it's time to start. Attached to the email there is a link that will say 'Zoom Lesson (Click to Join)'.
(This will also be sent to you in a text message.)
Click the link a few minutes before your lesson and you will arrive in your teacher's waiting room. When they are done with their previous student they will accept you into the meeting. Make sure that your camera and microphone are on and that your volume is up.

Alternatively, you can log in via the Student Portal with your username and password. You can then click on the Zoom link and it will take you to the lesson meeting room.
